Opening for play in 1929 – Yardley Country Club has been a fixture of
Philadelphia golf for decades. A renowned classical design that meanders through tall mature hardwoods to well bunkered smallish greens while preserving the natural landscape and placing an emphasis on accuracy, not length.
The course at 6,394 yards from the back tees is much the same today as it was when golf legends and major champions Johnny Farrell, Gene Sarazan, and Sam Snead walked our links. Continuously praised from both the occasional as well as the accomplished golfer, Yardley is a course for all ages and levels of ability offering impeccably conditioned fairways and some of the smoothest putting surfaces in the region.
Each unique hole is harmoniously woven into the spectacular surroundings of the property, a perfect illustration of golf and nature at their best. However the closing at Yardley, with two drivable par fours sandwiching the 228 yard uphill par three 17th can be most entertaining as well as frustrating when closing out a big match.
